Lindsay Lohan has been offered a part in ‘Machete’ as April Supporting Role (Filming).

Machete is a film by Robert Rodriguez. It is an expansion of a fake trailer Rodriguez directed for the 2007 film Grindhouse. It will star Danny Trejo (in his first lead role) as the title character. Although originally announced to be released direct-to-DVD as an extra on the Planet Terror DVD, the film is now being produced as a theatrical release. Filming for the movie began in July of 2009 and it will be released sometime in 2010.

* The film was based on the fake trailer featured before Robert Rodriguez's double feature for Grindhouse (2007), Planet Terror (2007), which was co-produced by Quentin Tarantino and is also the producer on this film.

* Danny Trejo, Jeff Fahey and Cheech Marin who are featured in the fake trailer featured in Grindhouse (2007), reprise their roles for this film as well. Tito Larriva, one of Robert Rodriguez's closest friends and who's acted in several films was featured in the trailer but at this point not confirmed to be in this film. Fahey was also featured in Planet Terror (2007) which was written, produced and directed by Rodriguez.

* Machete film marks the second time that Robert De Niro and Quentin Tarantino have worked together. They previously worked together on Jackie Brown (1997), which De Niro was part of the ensemble like this film and Tarantino wrote, directed and produced that film.

* Cheech Marin and Don Johnson both co-starred in the hit CBS series Nash Bridges and reunited here for the first time since the show.

* Machete film will mark the first high profile film that Steven Seagal has filmed here in the US since his cameo in The Onion Movie (2008), which was filmed in 2003 and finally released in 2007 after sitting on the shelf for close to four years. His last starring role in a film here was Exit Wounds (2001), nearly ten years since last starring role in U.S. produced film.

* Machete film is being made because of the fake trailer's popularity after being featured in the theatrical version of Grindhouse (2007) along with the other fake trailers and advertisements featured in the film. "Thanksgiving" is the other popular fake trailer included in the film and was directed by Eli Roth and is now in development to be made into a full length film.

* According to some reports, Robert Rodriguez claims to have filmed half this movie while making the fake trailer to be included for the theatrical version of Grindhouse (2007). These have yet to be confirmed by Rodriguez himself.

* Robert Rodriguez wrote the script back in 1993 after he wrote Desperado (1995).

Lindsay Lohan The 23-year-old actress – who recently turned down a role in the successful comedy ‘The Hangover’ – has been approached to star alongside Danny Trejo and Michelle Rodriguez for a part in Robert Rodriguez’s new movie ‘Machete’.

According to the National Ledger website, the ‘Planet Terror’ director is very keen to work with the US starlet on the project.

Speaking about his latest cinematic offering, he said: “These things come together very quickly. We’re casting right now, and the script just came out.”

A trailer for the movie – which is about an illegal immigrant - was recently released and Robert is thrilled with the positive response.

He explained: “I was thinking it had to live up to the trailer, because the trailer was so well received. But the script far surpassed the trailer.”

Lindsay Lohan is believed to have financial troubles after struggling to land a major film part for sometime.

Meanwhile, the troubled actress has been caught on video having another blazing row with her on/off girlfriend, DJ Samantha Ronson at the weekend.

Lindsay spent two hours sitting on her 31-year-old lover’s doorstep with an unknown woman until Samantha turned up at 5am.

The tearful actress sobbed: “Samantha, where were you? You lost it, what’s wrong with you.”

Lindsay Lohan then shouted at her acquaintance: “Stop! Stop!”

Samantha said: “Who is this person?”

Lindsay Lohan – visibly upset and confused - replied: “I’m your girlfriend!”

The DJ continued to ask Lindsay who the female was and asked why she had told her to “stop”.

When Lindsay said the “friend” had tried to touch her, Samantha demanded she left immediately.

Lindsay ignored her requests and continued to ask where her girlfriend had been.

Samantha shouted: “I was with my sister.”

Lindsay Lohan replied: “You’re lying.”

Samantha added: “Yeah, I’m lying!”

After the aggressive exchange the pair finally entered the house and slammed the door behind them, while the unknown female caught a taxi home.
